The tile adhesive mortar is the special adhesive mortar used for pasting ceramic wall and floor tiles, stone materials, etc., onto the substrate. According to the different composition, it can be divided into three broad categories: cement-based tile adhesive mortar, polymer emulsion tile adhesive mortar, and reactive resin tile adhesive mortar. The most commonly used is the cement-based tile adhesive mortar.
The cement-based tile adhesive mortar is a powdery mixture composed of cement, aggregates, polymers, additives and fillers, etc. It needs to be mixed with water or other liquids during use. If only water needs to be added for mixing during use, then it is called single-component dry-mixed cement-based tile adhesive mortar; if the supporting the liquid components need to be added for mixing during use, then it is called two-component cement-based tile adhesive mortar.
The single-component tile adhesive mortar is lower in the price and slightly poor in the quality. Especially the mortar without the addition of polymers has Low bond strength and large shrinkage, mainly used for the adhesion of interior and exterior wall tiles. The two-component tile adhesive mortar has good elasticity and strong adhesion, very suitable for thermal insulation systems. It has far better flexibility and adhesion than the single-component tile adhesive mortar, and can be used for the adhesion of interior and exterior tiles, stone materials, as well as of some special base surface and elastic base surface. Single-component pasty tile adhesive mortar is high in the cost, good in adhesion and good in flexibility, and can adapt to the deformation of wood and plastic plates, but it is not water resistant, used for the adhesion of decorative materials on the special substrates, such as pasting decorative materials on the wood, iron plate and plastic plate.
